Overview

According to the 2024 Trends Global Survey, 65%-80% of global travelers surveyed book their trips entirely online. Due to this fact, photography plays a huge role in attracting online customers.

Having skew photos, no idea of composition, not enough detail, conveying mixed emotions, dark insides, falling framed photos as if they were taken on a ship at sea, or shot at high angled elevations, are just a few mentioned that weaken your presentation layer online.

The few seconds you have to attract your client’s attention online are so important, don’t throw them away. Having your photography done professionally will attract a larger audience, and often lead to more potential bookings.

The Photoshoot

On arrival, I meet my client and do a walk-through of the accommodation. During the walk-through, notes are taken of each space. These notes comprise of compositions, angles, photograph orientations, and general styling ideas for each space. Taking the sun into consideration, we see which spaces need to be photographed in the morning and which in the afternoon.

The overall photoshoot plan for the day is formulated, reviewed, and agreed upon. In this way, my client has a very good idea of what to expect out of the photoshoot.

If there are booms, mats that need to be removed, curtains that are not opened, toilet seats that are not closed, or bedding that is not entirely straight, I gladly sort these out as I photograph each space.

As far as general styling is concerned, I pro-actively assist in making every shot count as much as possible to ensure the best outcomes.

If you do serve drinks, cheese platters, breakfast, lunch, coffee rusks, etc., it would be beneficial to have these prepared for the photoshoot.

Depending on the package choice, editing generally takes 2 to 4 days.

Gear & Photo editing

I shoot with a full-frame Canon camera using pro lenses. I use flash to create natural sunlight where there is none. I edit in Photoshop, Lightroom & Capture One. Each interior composition usually consists of 5 to 12 photos. These photos are custom-blended by hand in Photoshop. I do not use auto-merging software at all.
