Overview

According to the 2024 Trends Global Survey, 65%-80% of global travelers surveyed book their trips entirely online. Due to this fact, photography plays a huge role in attracting online customers.

Having skew photos, no idea of composition, not enough detail, conveying mixed emotions, dark insides, falling framed photos as if they were taken on a ship at sea, or shot at high angled elevations, are just a few mentioned that weaken your presentation layer online.

The few seconds you have to attract your client’s attention online are so important, don’t throw them away. Having your photography done professionally will attract a larger audience, and often lead to more potential bookings, and shared more often with others.

The Photoshoot

On arrival, my client communicates what they want, what needs to be taken, what they do not want to be taken, and the general style of photography they would like their establishment to be visually communicated in. Notes are taken throughout the entire walk-through.

The overall photoshoot for the day is formulated, reviewed, and agreed upon. In this way, my client has a very good idea of what to expect out of the photoshoot.

If there are booms, mats that need to be removed, curtains that are not opened, toilet seats that are not closed, or bedding that is not entirely straight, I gladly sort these out as I photograph each space.

As far as general styling is concerned, I pro-actively assist in making every shot count to ensure the best outcomes.

If you do serve drinks, cheese platters, breakfast, lunch, coffee rusks, etc., it would be beneficial to have these prepared for the photoshoot.

I shoot with Canon using pro lenses. I use flash and defusers to enhance texture detail, colour integrity and mood. Each interior composition usually consists of 7 to 14 photos, and often more in some cases. These photos are custom-blended to create a single photograph, usually taking 30-60 minutes.
